Genesis Medspa explains how Opus Resurfacing can help refresh skin after months of summer sun.
Seasons change. Summer gives way to autumn. Sun-soaked days and high temperatures morph into foggy mornings and chilly nights. Just as the seasons slowly change, so does our skin. And with change comes the opportunity for rejuvenation. At Genesis Medspa in Jefferson City, the changing seasons provide an opportunity to help clients refresh and rejuvenate their skin through personalized treatments.
Genesis Medspa's tagline, "enhancing the seasons of your life," reflects the practice's philosophy of meeting patients wherever they are in life's changing seasons. With that sentiment in mind, physician-owned Genesis Medspa strives to create personalized experiences for every single guest who walks through its doors.
The goal of the staff at Genesis Medspa is not to fit every person into the same self-care mold. Instead, they focus on fostering a true understanding of each patient so they can create a plan that will work seamlessly with the patient’s lifestyle and budget.
“Our ideal client is anyone,” says clinic manager Kimberly Hentges, RN. “No matter what season of life you are in, we have something for you."
Among the premier offerings at Genesis, Opus Resurfacing stands out as a sophisticated, noninvasive technique designed to improve the appearance and texture of skin. It combines radio-frequency and plasma technology to create tiny zones of thermal injury in the skin. As a response, the body’s natural healing process is stimulated, and collagen and elastin go to work to improve the overall look and feel of the skin.

The process of Opus begins with a consultation with one of Genesis’ providers. During the initial meeting, clients will inform physicians about their individual concerns and goals, which will help determine if Opus is the right treatment. In addition, guests will also have photos of their skin taken with a VISIA skin analysis camera. This technology allows the team at Genesis to more closely determine what is happening both on top of and beneath the skin’s surface.
“The treatment itself is a little ‘spicy’ and will take about 45 minutes,” shares Kimberly. “After the treatment is over, the provider will apply some products to the skin and get you ready to head back to your day. Your skin is going to feel hot and may be uncomfortable for a few hours after treatment. Your face will remain red for about one week. I usually tell people to plan on having a full week of downtime.”
For many patients, Opus’ potential benefits make the downtime worthwhile. In addition to softening the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, the treatment can help minimize acne scars, uneven tone and texture, enlarged pores, and stretch marks.
For the team at Genesis, being able to bring Opus Resurfacing to the people of their community is about so much more than the latest beauty trends. The providers and staff at the medspa continuously do their homework, often trying treatments and products on themselves before offering them to clients. They are constantly refining their craft to ensure that the services they offer are the best of the best, even as the industry, and the seasons, change.
As autumn arrives, the changing season offers a natural opportunity to reset. For those curious about Opus Resurfacing or other aesthetic treatments, a consultation at Genesis Medspa can help determine the best path forward.
